Bengaluru: KSRTC buses and BMTC buses will start operations from Tuesday onwards, while the restriction on public transport will continue only in Red Zone and in Containment Zones.
Addressing a meeting on Monday, May 18, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that complete lockdown will be maintained in the state every Sunday.
He said that from May 19 onwards, onwards 300 buses will start operations. The maximum number of passengers in each bus has been limited to 30.
Depending on the requirement, the number of buses will be increased, said the CM adding that while restriction on Metro trains continue, autos, taxis, maxi-cabs etc can start operations by strictly following the guidelines-upper limit of two passengers including the driver for autos and taxis and three passengers including the driver for maxi-cabs.
Malls, theatres and hotels (open only for parcel service) will continue to remain closed while all other shops can lift their shutters, said the CM adding that the rail services within the state will be started.
Parks have been allowed to open from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm, Yediyurappa said. The chief minister said night curfew would continue from 7 pm to 7 am.
