Bengaluru: The Karnataka Mahila Congress workers demanded the dismissal of newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) Laxman Savadi during a protest held in Bengaluru on Saturday, August 31.
Speaking to ANI, Congress leader Pushpa Amarnath said, “He was caught watching porn in our state Assembly session (in 2012). We urge BJP national president Amit Shah and PM Modi to sack him.”
Savadi, along with CC Patil and Krishna J Palemar, was caught watching a pornographic video clip in the midst of an Assembly session in 2012. Defending his actions, Savadi had said that he had merely watched the video in order to “know more about rave parties.”
Savadi’s appointment as DCM has caused quite a stir since he is neither an elected MLA or MLC.
However, his pivotal role in destabilising the former Congress-JD(S) coalition government is reportedly what got him the job.
