Bengaluru: A group of responsible citizens from various walks of life across Karnataka have written to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai over increasing diaharmony in the State. The citizens said that across State the actions are on the rise that is leading to the alienation of certain communities and denying them fundamental rights.
The letter has been written in the background of Hijab row, Muslim vendor ban and taget of minorities’ worship place in the State that has been fuelled by the right wingers. The citizens urged the CM in the letter that such actions will bring down the reputation of the State and have adverse impact on development, especially denting confidence of entrepreneurs as well as discouraging investors, and instilling fear among citizens.
Further, the citizens state that it is not possible to Make in India where people are Scared as well as Scarred India. The signatories of the letter are former government officers, police officers, theatre actors, intellectuals, and writers.
