K’taka soldiers die in two separate incidents in J&K

Bengaluru: Two soldiers from the state died in two separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. One soldier died in an avalanche, while another died in a battle with terrorists.

Shivalingeshwara Veerabhadragowda Patil (26), a soldier from Gundenahalli village in Byadagi taluk, who was serving as a soldier in the Rashtriya Rifles died in a gun battle with the terrorists. Last week he had sustained bullet injuries in a gun battle with the terrorists near Line of Control (LoC). His mortal remains are expected to reach his home town on Sunday evening.

His father Veerabhadragowda Patil is also a retired soldier.

In another incident, a soldier from Belagavi died in an avalanche. Vittal Ramappa Metri (36), a resident of Hallura-Shivapura of Gokak taluk is the soldier who died in the avalanche.
