Bengaluru: Kumar Bangarappa, congress leader and son of former chief minister S Bangarappa quit the party officially on March 3 and expressed his desire to join BJP on March 9.
In his resignation letter to state Congress Chief S Parameshwara, K Bangarappa has attached a two page note explaining the reasons behind his resignation. Mainly the party sidelining him forced him to quit Congress after giving a serious thought over resignation for a period of over 6-9 months, Kumar Bangarappa has stated.
Accusing Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa of being primarily responsible for the downfall of Congress in Shivamogga district, Kumar Bangarappa said, “Congress party is filled with middle men and dealers with corruption at peak level in the state administration.”
He agreed with former chief minister S M Krishna’s statement while quitting Congress, where he had said, “Congress party needs managers and not workers.” He will officially join the BJP on March 9 in accordance with the wishes of his fans and supporters, Kumar Bangarappa said. He supported Modi government’s note ban and said, it was a step in the right direction to eradicate corruption.
During his father’s and S M Krishna’s regime “Bagar Hukum” applications were cleared without any money whereas now prices range from Rs 50000 to a lakh, Kumar Bangarappa said accusing the present state government of involving in total corruption.
Votes must be sought on development basis during elections and not by invoking parent’s names on emotional grounds, he said.
Kumar Bangarappa, former actor and congress politician is now all set to begin a new innings in politics by joining BJP on March 9.
