Bengaluru: Every day an average of 3,000 to 5,000 tourists and the general public visit the famed Lalbhag park of the city. In weekends the number of visitors crosses 15,000. With that kind of crowd thronging the park, the authorities suddenly increased the entry fee from Rs 20 to Rs 25 from March 1.
According to the authorities, the entry fee was introduced at the park in 2010. “It was Rs.10 in the first year. In the year 2016, it was increased to Rs.20. Now in the year 2019, it has been increased to Rs.25,” informed officers.
“The reason for the increase in the entry fee is the revision in the tender rates. The hike has been made only after taking prior approval from the state government,” informed an officer from the horticulture department.
