
Leopard Attacks Cause Alarm in Ramanagara Outskirts
Ramanagara: The outskirts of Ramanagara are grappling with heightened leopard activity, causing significant fear among residents. In the areas of Vasudha Layout in Vaderahalli and Palabhovidoddi village on Magadi Road, six dogs have been killed by leopards within the past week. The situation has been documented on CCTV, exacerbating community anxiety and leading residents to avoid outdoor activities during dawn and dusk.
On the 9th, a leopard attacked and abducted a pet dog from Mohan Kumar’s residence in Vasudha Layout. A similar incident occurred in Palabhovidoddi when Mahesh S.’s dog was seized by a leopard right at his home’s gate.
Residents have voiced frustration over the Forest Department’s initial lack of response to their reports about increased leopard activity near residential zones. With five dogs missing due to these incidents, the community is urging local authorities to take swift action.
The frequency of leopard sightings has risen, particularly during morning and evening hours, heightening local fears. Despite attempts to alert forest officials through various channels, including WhatsApp videos, the response has been minimal. The situation remains critical as residents seek urgent measures to address the threat posed by these wild animals.
