Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a leopard dragged a 3-year-old child who was sleeping with his grandfather outside their home and killed him in the Kadarayyanapalya village of Magadi taluk. The boy’s body was found in a bush nearly 500 meters away from the house. The incident was reported in the wee hours of Saturday, May 9.
The victim, identified as Hemanth Chandrashekar, is the son of Chandrasekar and Mangala. He had been to his grandfather’s home recently. As he was feeling hot, he decided to sleep outside the house with his grandfather on Friday night.
Some time after midnight, a leopard dragged him away, killed and left his half-eaten body near a bush.
The incident came to light early on Saturday morning when the grandfather woke up. He alerted the villagers about his missing grandson and during the search operations, the boy’s dead body was found.
Senior forest department authorities rushed to the spot to conduct an investigation.
