Liam Livingstone, the newest addition to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, is optimistic that the Chinnaswamy  will better complement his playing style compared to his previous stint with Punjab Kings. After three seasons with PBKS, where he struggled to deliver consistently, Livingstone was picked up by RCB for Rs. 8.75 crore at the IPL 2025 Auction.

The all-rounder expressed to Reuters that he feels this move marks a new beginning for his IPL career. He highlighted the passionate fan base and the slightly smaller dimensions of the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which he believes will suit his game much better than the larger Punjab stadium. “I think Bangalore is going to be very good for my game,” Livingstone said, reflecting on the fresh start with RCB.

Livingstone also shared his excitement about joining a team with such a star-studded lineup, particularly playing alongside Virat Kohli. He acknowledged that while RCB’s team has many talented players, including Phil Salt, there’s work to be done before they can replicate the team’s past successes. “Playing with the likes of Virat is going to be really cool,” he added.

Recently, Livingstone was appointed England’s captain during Jos Buttler’s injury layoff on the West Indies tour. He expressed pride in the leadership opportunity, saying he enjoyed the responsibility.
