A drop in atmospheric pressure is expected to bring light rain to Bengaluru and parts of south interior Karnataka through the weekend. Weather models indicate intermittent showers until Sunday, with cloudy skies and mild temperatures continuing across the city.
Showers expected across multiple districts
Along with Bengaluru, neighbouring districts including Chikkaballapur and Kolar may see occasional spells of rain, with the possibility of thunder in isolated pockets. Meteorologists noted that moisture levels remain elevated, supporting brief but noticeable showers during the mornings and evenings.
Despite persistent cloud cover, the rainfall is not expected to intensify, and forecasters have ruled out any heavy rain during this period.
Dry conditions likely from December 7
Weather officials expect the current pattern to shift early next week. Starting December 7, Bengaluru is likely to enter a dry phase, with clearer skies, reduced humidity, and more stable weather returning.
Residents may still experience minor disruptions to early-morning and late-evening plans until the conditions stabilise, but no significant weather-related alerts have been issued.
Seasonal transition behind mild showers
Meteorological experts attribute the rainfall to a seasonal transition, a common occurrence as winter conditions begin to take hold in south interior Karnataka. Light showers are expected to taper off gradually as the atmospheric system weakens.
