Bengaluru: Mahiti Kanaja, an e-governance data transparency portal that has so far only witnessed consultations with stakeholders in Bengaluru, will now expand its reach to all villages across the State.
The E-governance Department is attempting a first-of-its-kind initiative in collaboration with the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
According to sources, Shreevyas H. M., Project Director at the Centre for e-Governance, the E-Governance Department wants to know how Panchayat Development Officers are using the portal.
The consultations will take place in all 5,960 panchayats on Wednesday as part of the special Gram Sabha, and will empower citizens with the transparency tool.
