Bengaluru: A large-scale drug bust in Mangaluru by Karnataka police has raised serious questions about security lapses at New Delhi airport. During a session appreciating Mangaluru police for their crackdown on drug trafficking, Speaker UT Khader suggested that narcotics enter Karnataka via New Delhi, possibly with insider assistance.
While MLAs across parties praised Karnataka’s law enforcement, BJP MLA Harish Poonja highlighted that the operation started in Bengaluru and ended in Mangaluru. BJP state president BY Vijayendra urged the government to monitor drug networks even at the taluk level, warning that confiscated substances might be recirculated with police involvement.
Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed that authorities are actively tracking drug movements from Delhi to Karnataka. The government has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on narcotics and pledged stricter vigilance.
