Bengaluru: Instances of fake job cards, employment certificates, bank accounts are many a times heard in government agencies, but in a rare incident, a private hospital fell victim to its own employee who cheated the hospital to tune of Rs 8.21 lac by creating fake posts and employees.
The accused N Divakar was working as the HR Executive of the reputed Mallya Hospital in the city. It is now learnt that Divakar, a resident of Hongasandra of Bommanahalli, who was the authorised signatory for creation of payrolls and monthly salary slips misused his powers and made payments to 12 ‘bogus’ employees.
“By misusing his position he had created fake documents for 12 employees and released salary to those accounts. Recently when hospital management carried out an HR audit this scam surfaced,” informed sources.
According to the Cubbon Park police, they have arrested a HR executive of the hospital following a complaint lodged by the hospital management.
“We can get a clear picture about the whole scam only after a thorough investigation,” sources added.
