Bengaluru: Malnad districts of the state i.e. Kodagu, Chikkamagalur, Hassan, and Shivamogga were battered by heavy rainfall and flood warnings have been issued in all the districts.
Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) issued a red alert for coastal and Malnad regions till Thursday night.
Charmadi ghat, which connects Chikkamagalur with Dakshina Kannada was blocked after landslips at many places. In Kodagu, Bhagamanda is disconnected from the rest of the areas due to flood in the river Cauvery.
Cauvery river is flowing above the danger mark in many places of Kodagu and Mysuru districts.
Vehicle movement on the Madikeri-Mangaluru road is slow due to the fear of landslips till Sampaje.
Following heavy rainfall in Wayanad, Kabini river is flowing above the danger mark in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts.
Meanwhile, CM BS Yediyurappa announced Rs.50 crores interim relief to all the flood-affected districts to take up the relief measures.
