In a disturbing incident during a time of heightened India-Pakistan tensions, a man named Nawaz was arrested by Bandepalya Police in Bengaluru after he posted an Instagram video suggesting a bomb attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence. The inflammatory clip, which quickly went viral, questioned why Pakistan had not targeted the PM’s house.

Nawaz, a computer mechanic originally from Electronic City, was traced to a paying guest facility in Bandepalya. Upon arrest, he was remanded to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. Authorities have confirmed that Nawaz also faces a pending Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case in Tumakuru.

Joint Commissioner (East) Ramesh Baanoth confirmed Nawaz’s arrest and said, “He made a provocative post about bombing the Prime Minister’s house. He’s being sent to judicial custody and will be presented in court.”

Police are probing his intent, possible affiliations, and whether the act was driven by extremist leanings or personal motives.

This case comes on the heels of another incident in Mangaluru, where a user named ‘Nichchu Mangaluru’ was booked for allegedly justifying the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. A complaint from a Ullal resident led to an FIR under charges of inciting unrest via electronic media.

Law enforcement officials have reiterated a strong stance against hate speech and provocation online, emphasizing that such acts will be met with swift legal consequences.
