Bengaluru: A techie in Bengaluru was assaulted by a person who was video-recorded violating traffic rules on Monday, May 30.

According to techie Ankit Chowdhary, the incident took place on Monday morning near Wipro Park in Koramangala where he saw a man riding his two-wheeler on the footpath. He photographed the incident and went on his way. However, the man parked his vehicle and tried to grab Ankit’s phone. He has also video-recoded the man assaulting him.

Ankit lodged a complaint at the Koramangala and Adugodi traffic police stations on Monday evening.

“We have received a complaint of assault based on which a non-cognizable offence report has been generated. We will approach a court for further instructions to take the case forward,” said a police officer.

Chowdhary has reportedly wrote on Facebook that since the police say it’s a non-cognizable offence, they will be filing an FIR for only after taking permission from the court.
