A 37-year-old man named Anand tragically died of asphyxiation after sleeping in a car with all windows closed at Manipal. The incident occurred on August 14 when Anand was accompanying Gururaj, the car owner from Chikkamagaluru, who had traveled to Manipal for his father’s medical treatment. While Gururaj’s father was admitted to the hospital, Anand chose to sleep in the car parked in the hospital’s yard. It is suspected that Anand’s death resulted from asphyxiation due to the lack of ventilation. Manipal police have registered a case to investigate the matter.
