Bengaluru: A man led to suspicion, reportedly, after refusing to undergo security checking at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station in Majestic here on Monday, May 6 night.
The person not only refused to cooperating with the security personnel but also escaped from checking zone.
At around 7.15 PM, an inebriated person sporting beard, arrived at the Majestic Metro Station from the north entrance.
As he stepped on the metal detector, it gave out a loud siren with a red alert light. When the security personnel rushed towards him to check him, he slowly backstepped and ran out of the station.
According to the reports in one of the Kannada dailies, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) Chief Public Relation officer B L Yashwant Chauhan has confirmed that there were absolutely no chances of any individual passing through the metro station without a thorough security check and because of this incident, security has been beefed up at the metro stations.

On Tuesday, May 7, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Ravi D Channannavar clarified to the media that he had visited the Majestic Metro Station to assess the situation yesterday and that the investigation was on.
On whether the suspect had any weapons, he said. “Kindly do not lend your ears to fake news and do not blow the news out of proportion. As the security personnel there had heard a beep sound from the metal detector, the police officials concerned have begun investigations.”
“On the orders of DG-IGP of Karnataka State Police, all the beat constables, inspectors and ACPs have been directed to keep a strict vigil on crowded areas like shopping malls, temples and other areas and all the precautionary measures have been taken”, he added.
