Man places log on expressway in suspicious attempt to stop and steal travelers
A shocking incident on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway has raised significant safety concerns among commuters. Dashcam footage shared on X by user Deep Darshan shows a man wielding a wooden log, seemingly attempting to block high-speed vehicles near Kengeri, potentially causing accidents to steal valuables.
Darshan shared the video with the caption: “Warning for travelers: Attempted car-toppling near Kengeri (Jan 20, 6:42 PM). A miscreant was seen placing a log in the closest lane near the divider. Immediate action is needed.” He also tagged Bengaluru Police, who responded by asking for the exact location and contact details to investigate further.
The video has sparked outrage on social media, with users expressing fear and frustration over safety lapses. One commenter noted, “This is terrifying! Putting lives at risk to snatch valuables, and that too so close to city limits.” Another suggested sticking to the middle lane on highways to avoid such dangers, especially at night.
Criticism of the highway’s management was also rampant. A user wrote, “This expressway is turning into a nightmare. Lack of patrolling, uncontrolled access points, and now this? What’s the toll even for?”
The incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced patrolling and stricter safety measures on the expressway to protect commuters from such threats.
