BENGALURU: A shocking case unfolded as 36-year-old Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar confessed to murdering his wife, Gouri Anil Sambrekar, 32, after a heated argument over her job. Following the crime on March 26, he sat beside her body all night, speaking to it.

Rakesh, who had recently relocated from Maharashtra to Bengaluru, worked remotely as a senior project coordinator. Gouri, unable to secure a job, blamed him and wanted to return, leading to frequent quarrels. Their final dispute turned violent when she threw a knife at him. In a fit of rage, he fatally stabbed her in the neck.

After placing her body in a trolley suitcase, Rakesh fled to Pune but was tracked and arrested minutes before surrendering. He had attempted suicide by consuming phenyl but survived. Bengaluru police are now awaiting a transit warrant to bring him back for further investigation.
