Mangaluru Players Chris Anjen Baptist and Sumit A. R. from Shine at State-Level Badminton Championship
Mangaluru: Chris Anjen Baptist and Sumit A. R. from Mangaluru emerged victorious in the doubles category of the Under-19 State Level Badminton Championship held at Karnataka Badminton Association, Bengaluru. They defeated Abhishek K K and Laksh Chengappa in a thrilling final with scores of 21-19, 17-21, 21-17.
The championship took place from 28-07-2023 to 02-08-2023.
They have clinched the doubles title in both under-17 and under-19 categories at the state-level badminton championship, marking their first-ever victory in the event.
Chris Anjan Baptist and Sumit A R, are both first-year Pre-University (PUC) students at SDM PU College, Ujire. They are currently undergoing training at Selenite Sports Academy in Bangalore under the guidance of Mr Vinod Kumar U, a former international player.
