Bengaluru: Raping and burning of the victims after the act has become some sort of horrific and heinous ‘trend’ in the country. Another case has been reported, this time from the ‘Silicon City’, on Saturday, December 14, where a Maulvi allegedly raped a girl repeatedly and tortured her by burning her with a steaming hot iron box.
The victim is said to be the Maulvi’s housemaid.
According to a report in the Kannada daily ‘Prajavani’, the accused, Maulvi Rahbar Islam Parvez (40) raped and tortured the young woman, who hails from Bihar, by locking her in a room.
Initial investigations revealed that she was brought to the city from Bihar when she was 16 years old and was made to work as a maid. The accused Maulvi never let her go out of the house and tortured her both mentally and physically.
The accused started torturing her with the iron box after he saw her talking to a boy from his own Madrasa.
When the Koramangala Police was informed about the heinous act, they had rushed to her rescue. As she had suffered burns all over her body and the police themselves admitted her to a hospital and for treatment. It is said that the doctors were shocked to see the girl’s condition.
Meanwhile, the Maulvi’s wife has also been arrested for being his accomplice.
