Bengaluru: Everyone is equal before the law, they say, but many examples have proven that it is not the case always. However, in a rather unique example, the BBMP slammed a fine on none other than Mahanagara Palike Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun for wrapping a gift in plastic and presenting it to CM BS Yediyurappa.
She was asked to pay a fine of Rs 500 after the photo of she handing over the gift came out.
The social media users appreciated this move by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike after the copy of the fine was released online. “Used plastic for wrapping gift pack,” the challan read.
The BBMP banned plastic in 2016 and since then it has been doing all possible attempts to control the plastic menace.
