Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa once again reshuffled his Cabinet on Monday. This is the second time in two weeks that the CM has reshuffled his Cabinet after the new ministers were inducted.

It can be recalled that on Friday, BSY reshuffled the portfolios after dissent brewed post the induction of new ministers into the Karnataka Cabinet.

According to a report by TNM, on Monday, Yediyurappa changed the portfolios of three ministers – Dr K Sudhakar, to whom the Medical Education department has been returned, J C Madhuswamy, who has been given the Tourism department and Ecology and Environment departments, and Anand Singh, who has been given the Infrastructure Development department along with the Haj and Waqf department.

After the first reshuffling, Dr Sudhakar had openly expressed apprehension of a different minister handling the Medical Education department saying that separating the Health and Medical Education ministries could “weaken the state’s vaccination efforts”. During the previous reshuffling (January 23), the Medical Education department was assigned to J C Madhuswamy.

Anand Singh’s portfolio was also changed as the government had been facing heat for assigning him the Ecology and Environment Departments as he had previously been arrested in connection with an illegal mining scam.

Meanwhile, CM BSY has kept high profile portfolios such as the Finance, Bengaluru Development, Energy and Intelligence departments in his own kitty.
