Bengaluru: As the dialogues between the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Administrative Board and staff failed on Wednesday, the corporation staff decided to go ahead with their decision to carry out a strike on March 22.
As per the schedule, the dialogues were held under the leadership of BMRCL Function and Maintenance Division Executive Director Shankar. Metro train drivers, station controllers, section engineers, signaling, telecom, automatic fare collection (AFC), Permanent maintenance of railway track and civil works division representatives participated in the dialogue.
“There was no positive response from the board in the meeting. Officials asked three-months time to fulfill the demands. We are not ready for that,” said BMRCL Employees’ Association Vice President Sooryanarayana Murthy.
“Another meeting has been called at Chief Labour Commissioner’s (Central) office on March 16. If they don’t fulfill our demands there also, we are going to carry out the strike on March 22, he added.
