Metro rides to roll out early for UPSC hopefuls this Sunday
To ease travel for aspirants appearing for the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, Bengaluru’s metro network will begin operations an hour in advance this Sunday.
Instead of the usual 7 am start, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has confirmed that trains will commence service from 6 am sharp. This change is being made to accommodate thousands of candidates heading to their designated exam centres across the city.
Early morning trains will depart from all four endpoints — Whitefield (Kadugodi), Challaghatta, Madavara, and Silk Institute. This proactive step ensures smoother and more accessible commutes on an important day for many.
Officials stated that the move was taken to reduce stress and ensure that test-takers are not delayed by morning traffic or limited transport options. Given the critical nature of the UPSC prelims, this small but significant change could make a major difference in punctuality and peace of mind.
Candidates are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and reach metro stations in time to make full use of the early trains.
The metro’s adjustment reflects growing awareness of commuter needs during crucial public examinations, and BMRCL’s willingness to support educational milestones.
