Bengaluru: The administrative board of Namma Metro has decided to begin the negotiation process with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited staffs who are stiff on their stand to carry out a strike on March 22 with various demands including revision of payment.
A meeting has been called under leadership of Operation and Maintenance Division Executive Director Shankar on Wednesday. Metro Rail drivers, station controllers, section engineers, signaling, telecom, automatic fare collection (AFC), Permanent maintenance of railway lane, traction and civil works division representatives have been invited.
Instead of inviting the whole association which will carry strike, two members from each division have been invited. The Association Secretary T R Uday said that decision has been taken to send the staffs, who are also the members of BMRCL Employees’ Association.
Similar meeting was conducted on July 7, 2017. A committee led by three-members, including Shankar has been formed to hear woes of the staff. But, not even a single demand was fulfilled, say sources. The Managing Director of Metro should directly discuss with the main leaders of the association, say many.
At present, the staff wear black badge during the service as a mark of protest against the corporation.
