Bengaluru: The state government is all set to hand over title deeds to 10,000 beneficiaries under the Akrama Sakrama scheme on Tuesday, January 28.
State revenue minister R Ashok will be handing over the title deeds to 9000 beneficiaries falling under the Bengaluru Urban district administration and 1000 from the Bengaluru Rural district administration. The title deeds will also be given away according to the Karnataka Assembly constituencies and rural jurisdictions.
The arrangements for converting Akrama into Sakrama is provided as per the provisions under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act 1964 94 (C) and 94 (CC). According to the amended Act, only 4000 sq ft of unofficial houses will be converted into Sakrama, under the rural category and 600 sq ft and 1200 sq ft of land which comes under the BBMP jurisdiction within a 18-km range will be given an opportunity to convert to Sakrama.
The beneficiaries who had built houses unofficially before 2015, will be provided an opportunity to convert from Akrama to Sakrama.
