Bengaluru: The Housing Minister’s office has once again urged the Housing Department’s Principal Secretary to submit a file allowing Chief Engineer N.P. Balaraju to continue in his post on a contract basis for two years after his retirement on 31st August.
Despite a previous directive from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to release retired officers employed on contract, Housing Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan has persisted in requesting Balaraju’s retention. The minister’s office has issued multiple notes to Principal Secretary Naveen Raj Singh, emphasising the need for Balaraju’s continued leadership.
Balaraju currently holds the additional charge of Chief Engineer of the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation, responsible for implementing the Chief Minister’s ambitious project to construct one lakh houses in Bengaluru. His expertise and experience are seen as crucial for the successful completion of this significant undertaking.
While the Principal Secretary has not yet submitted the required file, the Housing Minister’s office remains hopeful that Balaraju’s valuable contributions will be recognised and that his contract extension will be approved.
