Bengaluru: Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhanda Shrinivasa Murthy has decided to appeal to AICC president Sonia Gandhi to initiate action against BBMP former mayor Sampath Raj in connection to the violence that erupted in DG Halli- KG Halli in August, 2020.
“He is the accused no 1. Police informed that they have all evidences to prove his involvement in the case. He is now absconding. I will approach AICC president seeking action against him,” said Murthy adding that Sampat Raj must be expelled from the Congress.
He also stated that he will soon meet the CM and home minister seeking early action in this case.
“Nobody should face the difficulties that I faced,” he said.
It may be recalled a Facebook post by the MLA’s nephew Naveen had sparked violent reactions in KG Haii, DG Halli. The angry mob had vandalised the residence of the MLA.
Later, the riot which was presumed to have communal overtones was said to be political in nature when the name of former mayor Sampat Raj came to light.
