Bengaluru: Son of Congress MLC Naseer Ahmad, Fayaz was arrested in Bengaluru on December 7 for allegedly assaulting a head constable while in an inebriated state.
It all started when the car in which Fayaz and his two accomplices were travelling, was stopped by the police on December 7 morning. Allegedly, Fayaz was in an inebriated state and started an argument with the police on duty. The argument got heated quickly and Fayaz assaulted the head constable.
The altercation occurred near the Hebbal Flyover which comes under the Amruthahalli police station’s jurisdiction.
“Drunk and driving checks were underway. After the personnel on duty noticed that Fayaz was drunk, they warned him, but he got into an argument instead. Then he escaped. We later arrested him,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (East Zone) S Murugan.
Fayaz has been booked under IPC section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty). An investigation into the incident is currently under process.
