Bengaluru: The Congress and the Janata Dal (S) coalition had organized “Parivarthana Convention”, at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), here on Sunday, March 31.
Addressing the conference, AICC President Rahul Gandhi said, “The Congress and the JDS should face the Lok Sabha election with unity. My request to the Congress party workers is, support the JDS candidates and help them win the elections and it applies to JDS party workers as well”.
Slamming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, he said that in five years Modi government has not contributed anything for the poor but had helped only the business tycoons like Anil Ambani in doubling their income.
He said, “Modi has only waived off the loans of business giants but not the farmers. Whenever we request PM Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely to waive off farmers’ loan they say they can’t, but here is a state coalition government of the Congress and the JDS, which has strived towards waiving off farmers’ loans. From where did this money come?”
RaGa criticized Modi government for giving loans to Nirav Modi and Vijaya Mallya, but not the poor and the farmers.
He slammed the BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa and asked from where he got Rs. 1800 crores that was written in his diary, which was given to the Central leaders. He asked if that wasn’t the hard earned money of the people of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, former prime minister and JDS Supremo H D Deve Gowda said that PM Modi was intolerant towards Mahaghatbandhan and this was the reason that he used abusive language.
HDD said that the Mahaghatbandhan would take everyone irrespective of caste and religion, into confidence and will lead the country with secular principles.
Meanwhile, he also criticized the media for portraying the coalition leaders as ‘corrupt’, which was not correct, according to him.
