Mother and two children drown in farm pond

Bengaluru: This is the classic example of how mobile can ruin one’s life. A mother and two of her kids ended in watery grave due to the mobile phone.

Lakshmamma (33), who is a school teacher died along with her two children Monisha, 7 and Mohith, 5. They were all living at Pettanahalli village.

It is said that Lakshmamma was taking her children for a walk on Sunday evening when the mishap took place. The mother was busy talking on the mobile and the kids accidentally walked into an open farm pond on the roadside. Since she was engrossed in her talk, she did not even realise that the kids were not with her. After few minutes when she found that her kids were missing she rushed back on the same route to find that her kids crying for help in the pond.

Instead of calling upon the locals, she jumped into the pond, which was 12 ft deep, to save her children. In this tragic episode, all the three landed in watery grave. Tirumalashetty police in Bengaluru rural district have registered a case.

The bodies have been handed over to the family after a post-mortem.
