Preetika, who had a twin sister, was allegedly strangled with a veil by her mother. An investigating officer revealed that Ramya was fearful her daughter might develop autism due to her speech issues. Ramya did not harm Preetika’s twin sister during the incident. After realizing her daughter’s movements had ceased, Ramya rushed Preetika to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced the child dead on arrival. Ramya then surrendered to the police, accompanied by her brother-in-law who had lodged the complaint.

Ramya and her daughters lived in a flat in Manjunatha Nagar. She had recently left her job at a private company to care for her twins. Her husband, Venkatesh, works as a software engineer in Norway. The police have sent Preetika’s body for a post-mortem and are awaiting the report. Ramya is currently under arrest and being questioned to clarify the details of the case. Investigators have visited the crime scene for preliminary examinations and will further verify all statements given by Ramya.
