Bengaluru: A devastating event unfolded at Kadugodi in Whitefield around 5 am today, leading to the electrocution deaths of a mother and her nine-month-old daughter. The tragic incident is attributed to the negligence of BESCOM.
The victims have been recognized as Soundarya (23) and her 9-month-old daughter, Suviksa Liya. Soundarya, who had recently arrived in Bengaluru from Tamil Nadu with her daughter, was en route to their city residence when an electric wire fell on the roadside in Kadugodi.
As it was early morning, they accidentally touched the live wire without realizing it, leading to the tragic demise of both the mother and daughter. The Kadugodi police station has filed a case in connection with the incident. Three BESCOM officials, including AE Chetan, JE Rajanna, and Bescom station operator Manju, have been detained for questioning.
