Bengaluru: Last year Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru scripted history by opening its door to the boy students to the Post Graduate courses. This year too, the College has done something worthwhile by opening a school.
According to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) officials, college which was set up in the year 1948 has been given permission to start classes between pre nursery to Std V. “It will be of state syllabus. But school can modify the affiliation to other boards in coming days. School can admit students from this academic year itself,’ said an officer from DPI. Interestingly DPI permission is for a co-educational school, despite Mount Carmel PU and degree colleges being exclusively for girls. The school will continue as a Christian minority school.
Meanwhile, with the start of a new school, Central Business District (CBD) will again became hub of some elite schools. “Already CBD is known for schools like St. Joseph’s, Bishop Cotton Boy’s and Girl’s schools, Sophia. With the addition of the Mount Carmel school, CBD will be the hot favorite destination of all the parents and students,” concluded officer.
