Bengaluru: It looks like Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency, considered to be the bastion of the BJP, is slowly slipping out of the party’s hand. The party’s decision to field its youth leader, Tejaswi Surya, is proving to be costly as it has failed to convince the voters. On Thursday, March 28 evening, party state in-charge Muralidhar Rao faced the ire of the party activists, who blocked his car and hit it with their hands causing tension for some time.
It all started in the evening at around 5 PM, when Rao arrived at Tejaswini AnantKumar’s house to request her to campaign for Tejaswi Surya. She made it clear that she will not contest as a rebel but refused to campaign for the BJP until she is told why she was denied a ticket. She also informed that she will speak only to BJP national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.
While returning from her home, a group of BJP activists stopped his car, hit it and shouted slogans against the BJP central leadership. As the situation started to turn ugly, Ananth Kumar’s brother, Nanda Kumar intervened and eased the tension.
