Bengaluru Metro will be providing a special Rs 30 return journey on paper tickets during the Lalbagh Horticultural Fruit and Flower Show. This offer will be available at the Lalbagh Metro Station from 10 AM to 8 PM on August 15, 17, and 18. Unlike usual tokens, passengers can purchase these return journey paper tickets for travel from Lalbagh Metro Station to any other metro station on the day of purchase.

To utilize this offer, passengers can initially travel to Lalbagh Station using tokens, cards, or QR tickets. After arriving, they can use the special paper tickets instead of tokens for their return journey. It’s advised that travelers purchase QR tickets in advance to avoid delays.

The Lalbagh Flower Show, which started in 1912, is a celebrated event held twice a year in summer and winter. Inspired by the Royal Horticultural Society’s Great Spring Show in England, this year’s show emphasizes eco-friendly practices. There will be a ban on plastic bags, water bottles, packed food, and single-use plastics, with over 200 volunteers managing waste during the event.

The theme for this year’s show is “Life & Times of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar,” and it will be inaugurated by Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, with Dr. Ambedkar’s grandson, Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar, attending. Visitors can also participate in various competitions, including Ikebana, vegetable and fruit carving, Pushpa Bharati, and Bonsai.

Entry to the flower show costs Rs 80 for adults and Rs 30 for children, with free admission for school students.
