Nandi Hills closed on weekdays till April 25 for road upgrades
Bengaluru’s beloved weekend retreat, Nandi Hills, will be off-limits to visitors on weekdays until April 25 due to ongoing infrastructure improvements. This temporary closure, in effect from March 25, aims to enhance road conditions under a ₹4.9 crore development project.
While bikers and adventure seekers might find this disappointing, the good news is that Nandi Hills remains open on weekends. Visitors can explore the scenic spot from 6:30 PM on Fridays until 8 AM on Mondays, allowing ample time for a refreshing getaway.
The decision to restrict weekday access was made by the contractor and Public Works Department (PWD) officials to ensure smooth progress on the project. Though an inconvenience for now, the improved roads will enhance future travel experiences.
Located about 60 km from Bengaluru, Nandi Hills is a favorite among nature lovers and history enthusiasts. With its panoramic views, ancient temples, and misty mornings, it offers an idyllic escape from city life. The breathtaking sunrise and sunset vistas continue to attract photographers and travelers alike.
For now, those eager to visit can plan weekend trips and look forward to an even better experience once the upgrades are complete.
