Bengaluru: The Nelamangala police have arrested two journalists by name Kiran Shyanabhag and Jagannatha Gowda, for allegedly blackmailing a local doctor.
The two allegedly tried to blackmail the doctor under the name of a channel and collected a sum of Rs 25 lakhs.
According to the Nelamangala police, the FIR has registered against the duo 20 days ago. “Since then, the two of them were in hiding. They were traced based on their mobile call records,” informed the police.
“Kiran Shyanabhag was arrested in Davanagere, while Jagannatha Gowda was arrested in Bengaluru,” they added.
The police claim that Kiran Shyanabhag confessed to receiving the money, however, he spent it all with his friends.
