Bengaluru: The Nelamangala police have registered a case against a journalist for allegedly blackmailing a doctor. In his complaint, the doctor alleged that even after paying a sum of Rs 25 lakhs to the reporter, the latter continued to demand money.
The doctor, who runs an Ayurveda hospital, has alleged that the reporter threatened to air a piece of false news if he was not paid. “To protect my hospital’s reputation, I paid him Rs 25 lakhs. Now he is demanding more money to host a party for the journalists,” he alleged.
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and are on the hunt for the accused journalist, who is now absconding.
