‘Next week, we will elect the Leader of the Opposition’: Vijayendra

Bengaluru: The BJP high command has recently appointed the state president for Karnataka. State unit president Vijayendra mentioned that a decision regarding the selection of the opposition leader will be made in the future.

The BJP legislative party will gather next Friday for deliberations. The new state unit president, BY Vijayendra, shared that the opposition leader’s election will follow discussions with all MLAs. He mentioned the arrival of central observers for the legislative party meeting. The leader of each party will be elected under their supervision. The election of the opposition leader is scheduled for next Friday, as per his statement.

Furthermore, in response to his appointment as state president, he stated, “I haven’t been given the position due to being the son of former CM BS Yediyurappa. I take pride in being his son. I will work to unite those considering leaving the party,” he said. Former Minister V. Somanna, R. Ashok, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, and former CM Basavaraj Bommai will be taken into confidence, he added.
