Bengaluru: BBMP Yeshvantpur ward member GK Venkatesh threatened self-immolation by pouring kerosene alleging that COVID 19 food kits are not reaching the needy families of his ward. The incident happened at the BBMP joint commissioner’s office in RR Nagar of the city.

GK Venkatesh alleged that even though COVID 19 cases are surging in his ward, food kits are not reaching the people in the containment areas. He also alleged that there are not enough doctors in his ward to treat fever patients.

He withdrew his protest after the Joint Commissioner Jagadish rushed to the spot and assured him that all his demands will be met.
