The family of Bengaluru techie Bharath Bhushan, killed in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, has supported India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor that struck deep into Pakistan. Bharath’s elder brother, Preetham, expressed confidence in the government’s actions, saying, “We’re proud of what they’ve done. We trust the government to make the right decisions.”
The family praised the military’s swift response and emphasized that no more innocent lives should be lost. Bharath’s father, Chennaveerappa, called the strikes a “good job”, noting that “nine terror hideouts were destroyed and over 100 terrorists eliminated.” He stressed, “No son, husband, or father should die this way.”
Holding Pakistan accountable for sheltering militants, the family questioned why Kashmir remains heavily militarized despite being part of India. “Why does Kashmir need so much protection when other Indian regions like Bengaluru or Delhi don’t?” Preetham asked.
Recounting Bharath’s travel decision, Preetham said the family had advised him to vacation abroad, but Bharath had insisted on Kashmir, calling it “the Switzerland of India.” Sadly, his journey ended in tragedy.
Bharath leaves behind a three-year-old son, unaware of his father’s death. “He’s too young to know what happened. We’ll protect him from this truth as long as possible,” said Preetham, calling for peace and a future where “no family must endure this pain again.”
