Bengaluru: State Social Welfare Minister Priyank Kharge has opined, here on Thursday, April 25, that people would definitely help the Congress party win the Chincholi Assembly by-elections.

After the meeting on the decisions of placing an able candidate chaired by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, Dinesh Gundu Rao, he addressed the media and spoke on Dr. Umesh Jadhav leaving the Congress party.

He questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “Umesh Jadhav’s resignation is already a matter that is understood by all, but I would like to ask PM Modi, was this the administration that he had promised of serving the people of the country with honesty?”

Priyank asked this with referring to the context of ‘Operation Lotus’ conducted on Congress leaders.

Speaking about rebel Congress leader Ramesh Jarakiholi’s decision of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party he said, “Let him first sit calmly and discuss his issues with our leaders as there were still chances for him to express his opinion.”

He said that his moves would not have any impact on the by-elections.

Reacting to the statements of the BJP leaders stating that the state coalition government of the Congress and the Janata Dal (S) would dissolve anytime, he said. “It is just the dates that they are giving out and are fixing deadlines every now and then. Nothing to worry, as it will not affect the coalition government.”
