Bengaluru: Attacking the state government for its decision to remove lessons on Tipu Sulthan from textbooks of Class VII, KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar said that the BJP is trying to look at eveything from political point of view.
“It is an ideological agenda of the BJP and this move of the BJP will not be accepted at any cost. This calls for debate and the Congress will form a committee to look into this aspect.
While opining that continuing or discontinuing Tipu Jayanthi is a separate issue all together, DKShi said that nobody has the power to change or rewrite history.
He also said that a Committee formed by the government to analyse the decision of dropping the lesson too had recommended not to go ahead with this move.
“But, the BJP has gone ahead because it is a politically driven decision,” he said.
