Bengaluru: A Jain family has lodged a complaint at Upparpet police station against a hotel for serving chicken biriyani in a vegetarian restaurant.
Hemant Khinwasara had been to Rangoli veg restaurant on Kalidasa Road in Gandhi Nagar with his family members. There were around 25 members who had ordered jeera rice and vegetable biriyani. Though the jeera rice was fine, the vegetable biriyani turned out to be chicken biriyani.
The angry members lashed at the hotel management and sought explanation as to how non-veg food was cooked in a veg restaurant. The family demanded bill with the details of food served to them. But the hotel management apologised, waived of the charges and did not provide any bill.
The manager told the family that the waiter might have messed up with the food as the kitchen does cook non-veg food for the customers of an adjoining hotel as well.
The Upparpet police have registered the case as non-cognizable.
