Bengaluru: The countdown for election has begun and as expected all attempts are being made to breathe life into old controversies that were laid to rest.

Likewise, the sensation Hublot watch issue, which once hit headlines and then gradually fizzled out has resurfaced.

The CM courted controversy about a year ago when questions were raised at the high-end luxury watch that he was wearing. However, the drama died down after a friend of the CM confirmed the CM’s claim that it was gifted to him. The ACB had also taken up the case, but gradually gave clean-chit to the CM.

Advocate Nataraj Sharma now has filed an objection petition before the High Court, requesting the court to direct the Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) to provide the documents related to the Hublot watch case.

The ACB had finished the case by giving a clean-chit to the CM. The applicant questioned the ACB that on what basis the case was closed. He asked information about, who were all investigated and what are the evidence collected. But, till date the ACB has failed to provide the information, the applicant
said.

The applicant complained that the ACB just guessed that there was no corruption in the watch issue, and closed the case without taking even his statement. So, the Court should direct the ACB to provide the documents, he requested in the petition.
