Nov 8: Guidelines to follow for pre-schools in K’taka

Bengaluru: As pre-schools in Karnataka reopens on Monday November 8, more than 62,580 Anganawadis for about 56.50 lakh students aged three to six years will begin physical classes.

Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Upper Kindergarten (UKG) schools will be open in areas where the Covid-19 positive rate is less than 2 per cent. It has been instructed to conduct half-day classes from Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Even if all instructors and staff personnel have taken both does of Covid-19 vaccination, they must require a mandatory RT-PCR negative certificate. Those over the age of 50 will also be required to wear mandatory headgear and an apron.

According to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) guidelines, children must carry a consent letter from their parents authorising them to attend physical classes. It has been recommended that parents provide their children with home-cooked meals as well as drinking water. They have also demanded that the children be taught basic cough etiquette and that they carry a handkerchief at all times. Again, mask have not been made mandatory for kids, according to sources.

Parents have been instructed not to send their children to school if they are sick.

As per the instruction, schools must be sanitised and follow social distancing procedures. If any student shows any symptoms, they will be tested for Covid-19, and if a significant number of students test positive in a school, the campus will be closed.
