An aged residential structure in Central Bengaluru crumbled on Thursday afternoon, leaving one person injured, according to police reports.

The 50-year-old ground-plus-one building, situated on a compact 20×20 ft plot near Sampangi Rama Nagar, collapsed around 1:00 p.m.

At the time, tile work was ongoing on the ground floor. The homeowner, Ashwin, who was inside during the incident, sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Fortunately, a worker present at the site managed to escape without harm.

Police officials confirmed that the building was entirely reduced to rubble. Debris removal operations began immediately.

“The BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) has been informed, and the clearing process will be carried out promptly,” an officer stated.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as efforts to clear the site progress.
